Leading with Purpose: The Story of Jamizia Manous
A native of San Antonio, TX, Jamizia Manous is a devoted special education educator, minister, singer, and emerging author with a powerful mission: to uplift, inspire, and empower the next generation—especially young Black and Brown children. As a first grade educator, she brings heart, patience, and intentionality to every classroom interaction, creating a safe and affirming space where all children are seen, valued, and supported in becoming the fullest version of themselves.
A proud graduate of Howard University, Jamizia holds a degree in Sociology with a minor in Human Development. Her academic foundation, combined with her faith, creativity, and lived experiences, has deeply shaped her passion for social justice, identity development, and education equity. Whether in the classroom, pulpit, or on stage, she uses her gifts to cultivate healing, joy, and purpose.
A gifted vocalist, Jamizia also ministers through song—using music as a powerful tool to uplift spirits, bring communities together, and communicate truth. Her voice is not only an instrument of praise, but a means of connection and encouragement for those navigating life’s challenges.
Beyond teaching and singing, Jamizia is a passionate storyteller. She writes children’s books that reflect the richness of Black and Brown identity—books that teach self-love, build confidence, and spark ambition. Her stories are crafted to plant seeds of pride, resilience, and possibility in every young reader, helping them see themselves as capable, brilliant, and worthy.
Whether she’s teaching, preaching, writing, or singing, Jamizia operates with a deep commitment to helping children recognize who they truly are and to inspiring them to walk boldly in their purpose. She envisions a world where every child sees themselves reflected in powerful and positive ways—and where their dreams are nurtured from the very beginning.
Through every facet of her work, Jamizia Manous is building a legacy of love, faith, and liberation—one child, one story, and one song at a time.
